Interpretation, Logic and Philosophy: Jean Nicod’s Geometry in the sensible world

Jean Nicod (1893–1924) is a French philosopher and logician who worked with Russell during the First World War. His PhD, preface from Russell, was published under title La géométrie dans le monde sensible in 1924, year of his untimely death. The book did not have impact he deserved. In this paper, I discuss methodological aspect Nicod’s approach. My aim twofold. would first like to show that definition various notions equivalence between theories anticipates, many respects, (syntactic semantic) model-theoretic notion interpretation theory into another. secondly present philosophical agenda led elaborate logical framework: defense rationalism against Bergson’s attacks.
